Why join ITAA?

Don’t just take it from us, let our members do the talking!

I joined ITAA because I want a channel by which I can grow and absorb more knowledge as a professional. My TA colleagues around the world always stimulate me and emotional bond between us has been my basis. Of course joining doesn’t only mean receiving but also contributing to the organization of TA which I love.

Izumi Kadomoto, Japan

I joined the ITAA in 1987, the year I began to train in TA. At the time I didn’t even know that it was possible to be an educational transactional analyst, but I began using TA in all my work in adult education, counselling, training social workers. For me the importance of the ITAA from the start was the sense of being part of a truly worldwide community sharing TA philosophy, language and learning. I value the friendships of colleagues in so many countries and different situations, and how much we gain from our connectedness.

Trudi Newton, UK

ITAA’s vision aligns with my vision for life, which is creating a space for professional development and well-being with a sense of global inclusion in all walks of life.
1. Inclusion of the Okay-Okay philosophy in its profoundness and expansiveness to coexist in the global community we have come so far. Especially environmental, and socio-political identities.
2. Openness and willingness to engage with discourses on the relevant topics that need attention.
3. Encouraging ideas to develop and sustain transactional analysis theoretical frameworks with a firm ethical stance with an attitude of here-and-now reality from an international perspective.

Haseena Abdulla, India

I have learned mainly classical TA for 20 years since I first encountered it. TA was widespread in companies in Japan but limited to classical TA. However, one day I learned that many new articles of TA were being published and I wanted to learn more about the world of TA, so I joined ITAA. At first it was difficult for me to read English articles, but now I can use the translation function and I don’t have to turn the dictionary page by page anymore. I look forward to meeting more people and TA concepts from around the world!

Keiko Hoshino, Japan

ITAA is a wonderfully diverse community which enables you to belong to the global TA family. I joined ITAA to support the development of TA globally, be apart of their code of ethics for TA practitioners, have access to the TAJ, and have contact with my colleagues all around the world via ITAA’s online webinars and conferences.

John Fleming, Ireland

To be honest, I had a specific reason behind joining ITAA. TA was that magic wand that I searched with my whole heart. Its charming goodness and logical yet simple explanation touched me and my unresolved wounds profoundly. The longing to learn more TA rose day by day. My unarticulated hunger was so intent. I wanted to join ITAA to be a member of the community and to maintain my profession and ethical standard. ITAA has that strength to spread out the light on discrimination, racial conflict, and embrace people most in need. Thus, I joined ITAA.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is TAlent Program? Why do I need to look it up?

To make membership dues and training in transactional analysis affordable to more people around the world, ITAA has created the TAlent Program where dues are adjusted based on the nation’s economic conditions. Look up your country in the TAlent listing to find out whether you are paying FULL membership dues or if you are eligible for TAlent 1 or TAlent 2 reduced membership dues. (If your country of residence is not listed, please email our administrative office, info@itaaworld.org.)

When do I know if my membership application has been accepted and I can gain access to all TAJ and other membership benefits?

Memberships are confirmed once your payment has been verified. This may take up to a week, particularly if you are a student and/or you do not use our online payment portal.

All member benefits, including access to the TAJ, will be granted once membership has been verified and your properly completed E-Consent form has been received. This may also take 3 (three) weeks from the time we receive your payment and E-Consent form. To speed up the process, download the E-Consent form here and email it to us at info@itaaworld.org when you make your payment.
