The ITAA Ethics Committee convened on 21 August for its regular monthly meeting.
The session provided an opportunity to reflect on ethical standards, learning opportunities, and professional practice within the field of Transactional Analysis.
We were pleased to welcome Anne Tucker, ITAA Operations Director, whose participation enriched the depth and quality of the discussions.
The Committee remains committed to upholding ethical values and supporting the global TA community in its learning processes, while maintaining integrity and responsibility in professional practice.

From the July 2025 Transactional Analysis Journal theme issue on “Relationships in Love, Play, and Work,” the free-access article is “Transactional Analysis and Relationship Psychotherapy: Decontamination and Deconfusion of Ego State Relationship Structures” by Brad McLean.
The article offers a framework for a structured approach to relationship psychotherapy grounded in transactional analysis. McLean uses the transactional analysis concepts of decontamination and deconfusion to outline a staged treatment process.
This process integrates cognitive strategies to strengthen the relationship “Adult,” thereby laying the foundation for a deeper exploration of unconscious dynamics within the relationship “Child.” Consideration is also given to the influence of relationship “Parent” introjects. This approach is integrative and incorporates contemporary, evidence-based
practices from the broader field of relationship psychotherapy into the familiar transactional analysis treatment sequence. It addresses the target, focus, and nature of transactional analysis in relationship therapy.

With a rising number of candidates applying to take their oral exams during the IBOC exams held on 9–11 October 2025, we are renewing our call for examiners and volunteers and invite all CTAs/PTSTAs/TTAs/STAs/TSTAs to join us for this gathering that is at the heart of our accreditation system. Please follow this link to our Google form for your registration: https://forms.gle/oYibq1F48ag8XVsbA
Please note three innovations to this set of exams: There is only one google form for all exams (not two separate ones for CTA and TSTA exams as in previous years), and there is an new additional mandatory all-examiners meeting on Monday 6 October at 7–8am UK time during which we will focus on roles and responsibilities as well as the high level of diversity we will be encountering during the exam days. The third innovation is the exam timetable over the 3 days: On Thursday there will be one set of exams after a morning full of welcomes and briefings; Friday and Saturday there will be two exam time slots followed by celebrations (Friday for CTAs and Saturday for TSTAs).

Since WTAC 2025 is a private event, the Security and Health protocols of Le Corum listed on their website do not apply in all aspects.
• Participants will be permitted to use their smartphones, take photos, and make recordings during the conference.
• Luggage storage will be available at the dedicated cloakroom on Sunday for those wishing to leave their bags before traveling to the train station or airport, as arranged by the conference organizers.
• Security guards will be present at the venue, will check your ticket, and inspect bags upon entry to ensure the safety and security of all participants.
We hope this clears up any confusion and reassures participants of the arrangements specifically established for WTAC 2025.
